Laura Davis — NPSG Consulting Team

Software Consultant

Laura began her career in public safety with the Pflugerville Police Department in Texas in 1992, first serving as a dispatcher and records clerk. In 1994, she became a police officer and went on to spend 25 years with the department. Throughout her career, Laura worked in or supervised nearly every area of the agency, including patrol, investigations, narcotics, records, property and evidence, school resource officers, community services, communications, special operations, internal affairs, and the animal shelter. She also served as the department’s Public Information Officer and as a board member for the Austin Regional Intelligence Center (ARIC). Laura retired from law enforcement in 2017 at the rank of Lieutenant.

Although she had retired from the department, Laura wasn’t ready to leave public safety behind. She transitioned into public safety technology in 2017 working for a Tier 0/1 provider, where she could use her operational experience and understanding of law enforcement in a different way.

Since making that transition, Laura has worked with law enforcement agencies across the country and built extensive experience in public safety technology. Her background includes Records Management and Jail Management Systems, state and federal reporting and certifications including NIBRS, citations, crash and use-of-force reporting, product management, software implementations, training, process improvement, and requirements gathering. Most recently, she served as a Senior Product Manager, working directly with agencies to understand their operational needs and translate those needs into technology solutions.

Her approach is simple: listen to the people doing the work, understand the problem that needs to be solved, and help agencies find solutions that truly support their mission.
