Patrick Higgins brings over 12 years of expertise in law enforcement and public safety technology, driving advancements in public safety through innovative development, strategic implementation, and leadership.
Beginning as a Deputy Sheriff with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, he progressed through roles in custody operations, patrol, and technical services, while holding auxiliary positions as a Search and Rescue Team Coordinator, Honor Guard, Reserve Deputy Coordinator, Interstate Fugitive Extradition Detail, and Mobile Field Force. Within the Technical Services Division, Patrick led a transition team during the implementation of a modern RMS platform, trained over 2500 users, served as the primary system administrator, and provided custom SQL reports to meet departmental needs. He also authored a scope of work for a transcription outsourcing initiative, reducing turnaround times and costs by over 50%, and assisted with several other technical projects including digital evidence, 800 radio interoperability, and state reporting. Patrick holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice Management and is the recipient of the Frank Bland Medal of Valor.
In 2021, Patrick transitioned to the private sector as a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer for a cloud-based CAD/RMS/JMS vendor. He spearheaded front end-end development, automated platform features, third party integrations, and supported discovery, implementations, training, and post-go-live support, contributing to dozens of successful deployments across multiple states. With combined experience in software engineering and law enforcement, Patrick continues to be mission oriented in providing law enforcement agencies with the best possible technical solutions for our front-line public safety professionals.
Married to his high-school sweetheart and father to two wonderful children, Patrick is active in his local church and enjoys fly fishing, bow hunting, and building Jeeps in his spare time.
